I've always had a keen interest in personal development
- helping myself and others reach their true potential. That's probably
the reason why I was attracted to training and development - it's
a continuous journey of discovery!
I've
literally read thousands of books and attended a lot of courses
too - all the 'ologies and 'erapies, in my quest and passion for
knowledge and development! (Amongst my friends, I'm known as a 'course
junkie!'). About 6 years ago, I attended my first NLP Practitioner
program in London, conducted by Paul McKenna (the renowned stage
hypnotist), Richard Bandler (one of the creators of NLP - offbeat
and definitely a maverick!) and Michael Breen. I knew then that
I'd come across something different in terms of personal development
and success, as I took the tools and techniques that l learnt on
that program to take giant steps forward in my own life - all areas!
I then went on to do the NLP Master Practitioner program and Trainer's
training (with Dr. David Shepherd) so I can share these tools and
techniques with as many people as possible. In other words, to enable
others to 'be the difference, that makes the difference!'
NLP can bring benefits across a range of activities. In a business
setting, the programs are adapted and designed to focus on specific
outcomes in the corporate environment, including buying and selling,
managing and motivating people, project planning and control. NLP
also provides techniques for setting business goals, accelerated
learning, and the use of fresh perspectives to encourage flexibility
of approach and problem solving. (see
Leading with NLP)
As
a certified trainer of Hypnosis and Time Line Therapy®, and
a Six Seconds certified practitioner of Emotional Intelligence,
(see Emotional Intelligence)
I strongly believe in 'walking the talk!' As well as running my
own NLP programs, both public and corporate, (see Essential NLP,
NLP Practitioner Certification)
I regularly roam around the globe to help as a coaching assistant
with my own teachers - a great way to stay up-to-date with what's
new!
As trainers and facilitators, we talk a lot about
change, encouraging others to 'step out of the comfort zone.' Well,
that's exactly what I did last summer! I enrolled to be a Firewalking
Instructor with SUNDOOR, the leading school for training firewalking
in the western world. It's founder, Peggy Dylan, is often referred
to as the mother of the western firewalking movement.
Having walked burning hot coals of 1700 degrees Fahrenheit a couple
of years ago, I was hoping to cut straight to the trainer certification,
but SUNDOOR have a strict policy that each potential instructor
must also attend Initiation! Just outside of Basle, Switzerland,
in the French mountains around Le Cornu, I stepped waaaay beyond
the boundaries of my comfort zone during a most profound experience,
which included a sweat lodge, breath work
.and
walking the fire hundreds of times!
A
couple of weeks later, I was heading for the lakes and highlands
of Scotland to complete the firewalking certification. People all
over the world have practiced walking barefoot over hot coals for
thousands of years. It serves as an unforgettable demonstration
of human potential, as a lesson in transforming fear in positive
energy - inspiring, purifying, healing and guiding us in this path
of life. (see Inspire with Fire!)
So many people have helped me on my journey
..now
I look forward to sharing with you how to use proven tools and techniques
to achieve success, fulfillment and balance in your personal and
professional lives as you continue your quest for authentic growth
and development. May the journey continue
..
